What is JEECUP?
JEECUP full form is Joint Entrance Examination Council Uttar Pradesh. It is also called Joint Entrance Examination Polytechnic or UPJEE(P). JEEC Uttar Pradesh conducts this exam. The council started in 1986–87. Every year, it gives admission to government and private polytechnic colleges of UP.
JEECUP is not just one exam. It has many groups for different courses. Group A is for engineering diplomas like civil, mechanical, and electrical. Group B for agricultural engineering. Group C for fashion design, home science, and textiles. Group D for office management and library science. Group E for pharmacy with biology or maths. Group F for postgraduate biotech. Group G for other postgraduates. Group H for hotel management. Group I for aircraft engineering.

Key Facts on JEECUP 2026
Joint Entrance Examination Council (JEEC) in Uttar Pradesh administers this exam as the primary entry test to the UP polytechnic diplomas.
It is a fully online Computer Based Test (CBT). You will have 2.5 hours -or 150 minutes - to answer 100 multiple-choice questions. Each correct answer is 400 marks, and the wrong answer means -1, and zero in case you do not do it.
You can take it in English or Hindi. Apply only online, and fees come to 300 rupees for General/OBC categories or 200 for SC/ST (plus whatever bank charges apply).
They hold it once a year, and results, ranks, plus counseling all happen online.

Eligibility Criteria for JEECUP 2026
Who can apply? First age: Minimum 14 years on July 1, 2026. No maximum age. Good news.
Now group-wise education is needed. All want a minimum of 35% in the past exam. Appearing students are ok.
Group A Engineering Technology: Class 10 pass or appearing, 35% marks. Syllabus: maths, physics, chemistry.
Group B Agriculture Engineering: Class 10 pass with agriculture subject and 35%, or class 12 with agriculture.
Group C Fashion Home Textile: Class 10 pass 35%. Questions on English, Hindi, and reasoning awareness.
Group D Modern Office Library: Class 12 pass or appearing. Must have Hindi and English in 10 and 12.
Group E1 Pharmacy Biology: Class 12 pass with physics, chemistry, and biology.
Group E2 Pharmacy Maths: Class 12 with Physics, Chemistry, and Maths.
Group F Biotech Tissue Culture: BSc pass with biology, chemistry, and biochemistry.
Group G Postgraduate Diploma: Any graduation pass or appearance.
Group H Hotel Catering: Class 12 pass 35%.
Group I Aircraft Maintenance: Class 12 science with 50% in physics, chemistry and maths.
